Wayzata High School Media Center

Accessing materials from other libraries

Your access to resources extends far beyond what is available just at Wayzata High School. As you research, keep in mind that you are part of a vast network of libraries with librarians happy to help you all along the way.

Materials from WPS

To find out if the items you want are available elsewhere in the district.

Search for books in other Wayzata school libraries

To see what is available throughout the district, change your location search in Destiny to Wayzata School District 284. Books from other Wayzata school libraries can be requested through Mrs. Samec in the WHS Media Center. Depending on their own need, another school can choose to fulfill or deny this request.

Staff may search for and request books from our Reading Office. Detailed instructions can be found at this link

Materials not at WPS

Sometimes you find a great article on the internet that is available only to people with a subscription. Or sometimes you come across an academic book that is not readily available. Chances are, we can use the power of Interlibrary Loan to connect you with these resources. Follow these three steps to request materials.

Step 1: Check in our databases to see if the article you want to read is there.

Step 2: Look for the item on WorldCat to get bibliographic information and to see if it is available nearby. We have access to a quite extensive system, but there are some limitations.

Step 3: Fill out one of the Google forms below to request the item from another library.

Article ILL (Inter-Library Loan) Request Form
These are typically sent electronically, but please allow a few days for retrieval, scanning, and delivery.

Book or other physical material ILL (Inter-Library Loan) Request Form (Use this to request research materials or hard to locate items. This is not a way to request popular titles that have a waiting list.)
These are sent via US Mail and typically have a 13 week loan period. Items need to be returned to the Trojan Media Center in time to be mailed back.
